Melbourne Night Photography Outing II
Published by Poh Wei under Canon EFS 17-85mm IS USM, Canon EOS 450D, Life in Melbourne, lovely sceneries, Photography, University of Melbourne on 8:15 PMLast Easter holiday, Kathryn and I went around Melbourne city for a night photography outing.
The weather was good that night. It wasn’t too cold and skies were beautiful. A perfect day for landscape photography!
Our first destination was Princess Bridge.
Sunset…
Here, we saw a cyclist who rammed into a car door which was opened suddenly onto the bicycle lane.
I notice that when you set your camera and tripod against a crowd of people, some of they would actually come towards you and pose in front of your camera or ask you to take pictures of them. That what we experienced that night or maybe it was because it was a Friday night. Hehe
Some abstract structure…looks like some twisted metal…hehe
Then we went down into this ordinary looking place which holds many photography treasures…
“Geometric Lines”
Along the Yarra River.
Flinders St Station.
Crown Casino.
Super long shutter speed gave the moving clouds some cool effects…(100 sec bulb mode using shutter release cable)
One of my favourite shot, unedited.
A random shot that came out quite nice…unedited too..
The hourly fire ball display at Crown Casino.
I could literally feel the heat from where I was standing. Hehe…
We did a couple of funny jump shots using the shutter release cable (it works!) and saw many really amazing street performers that night. Overall, it was a great outing and we managed to capture some really nice pictures that night. Hallelujah!
I’ll be going to Grampians National Park this weekend and I’ll be back on Monday. I hope this post will keep you guys entertained and updated for the weekend.
Till then, God bless.

amazing! Can sell as postcards man!
haha...Thanks, Vera =)
I think one major big difference would be no matter how you look at it, overseas just feels nicer in every way...
wanna go out like that for a night photography outing here also gotta think twice... not safe already here =(
I agree. In Australia, carrying a DSLR around town is relatively quite common and safe. People kinda get used to people carrying huge cameras cuz there's lots of tourist here too.
But in Malaysia or Indonesia, I'll feel very awkward carrying huge camera in public and it is very dangerous too...
Love your photo very much
